Android Tablet Price Point
I hope a lot execs took note yesterday when the HP Touch Pad flew off the shelves for £115. There are whole load of reasons for the price drop that I’m not going to get into, plenty of other people have posts on that. I will highlight one blazing fact that has been apparent for such a long time. The entry price point is too high for tablet devices that are not the premium brand.
Lets face it, Samsung, Asus and HTC have all been inspired by the Apple Ipad and to this day have not built a better tablet. They have come very close and equalled but not bettered.
So why not lower the entry point and take a bite of the tablet market share, because that is the only way those distributed devices are going to be shifted.
